Conduct experiments in breeding or in embryo manipulation, investigate the nutritional values of different feeds and the environmental conditions necessary to improve productivity and quality of animal produce.
Tasks
- Collect and analyse data and samples of produce, feed, and other factors affecting production
- Advise dairy farmers on techniques for improving herd productivity
- Advise farmers on issues such as livestock disease, control of pests, animal husbandry and feeding programs
- Study environmental factors affecting dairy production, pasture growth and animal breeding
- Study the effects of pests and diseases on animal production
- Develop procedures and techniques for solving agricultural problems and improving the efficiency of production
