Carole and Stan Droder Scholarship

Overview
Stan and Carole Droder were passionate about enabling students to achieve their higher education goals, and encouraged students to experience life on a regional campus. Without the opportunity to achieve their own higher education aspirations, Stan and Carole did their utmost to support students from similar backgrounds by providing a range of university scholarships. Highly respected at CSU for their professional and personal legacies, Stan and Carole Droder will long be remembered for their determination to provide equality in higher education – a most noble pursuit.

Must be studying

  • 2nd / 3rd / 4th / 5th Year (excludes Honours and Postgraduate studies)
  • Any undergraduate degree on the campuses listed above

Scholarship Value
Scholarship value of $20,000 paid over two years totalling $10,000 per annum. Annual payments to be made as 2x $5,000 instalments. Payments conditional on continued enrolment and maintenance of a pass grade GPA.

Please note final year recipients will receive payment of $10,000 for one year only

Conditions

  • Applicants who are studying full time on campus
  • Preference will be given to students from lower to middle income NSW families from the following backgrounds – trades, small farming, small business, administrative support, from a single parent family or is a single parent.
  • The following information, while not compulsory, may help in the assessment of your application. This information can be provided below in the “Additional Financial Information” free text field located in the Individual and Family Circumstances section of the online application form :-
    • Parents’ current occupations where applicable
    • Applicant’s accommodation status during university year (e.g. at home / on campus / rental property)
    • Please indicate whether you would be prepared to move on campus if awarded this scholarship

The purpose of these scholarships is to provide opportunities for eligible applicants who need financial assistance to study. In order to claim financial need you must provide evidence of your financial circumstances through either:

a. receipt of a relevant Centrelink (or other Commonwealth) means-tested income support payment (such as Austudy, ABSTUDY, Youth Allowance etc), or
b. by providing comprehensive information (supported by documentation) demonstrating financial circumstances, including whether you have any other means of financial support available to you.

If you have experienced circumstances such as a long term illness, disability, or difficult family circumstances or background which have impacted on your financial position then you should include this information. The more information you can provide, the better we are able to assess your level of need. If you provide any information about any other person (including family members) then you must obtain their consent before you do so.
